In the first half of the last century, between 1930 and 1950, Benlee was a big name. Famous boxers fought with it: "Bomber Brown" Joe Louis, "Jersey" Joe Walcott and Rocky Marciano, three heavyweight schampons in a row. They were all in the ring with Benlee boxing gloves and Benlee sports pants. Also other champions such as Jake "The Raging Bull" La Motta, "Sugar" Ray Robinson and Floyd Patterson carried Benlee. Benlee started producing box equipment in the 1930s, but withdrew from the store in the 60s. Punch GmbH revives tradition and in memory of Rocky Marciano, the best boxer of all time, passed away in 1969, it has attached its name to "his" brand: BenleeRockyMarciano.
